- Question: does the boat run directly via the solar panels?....or do the panels store up energy in batteries which then run the boat? If the latter, how long does it take to charge them up for a "good run on the lake"?

- Posted by David Grabitske on 11/18/06 - I know the staff at the nature center have told me how the boat runs. But can I remember? Of course not! I do believe that the solar panels directly run the motor. I can tell you that this picutre was the last run for the boat for that day, because it was running out of "juice." I thought that was funny since it's solar powered. So perhaps it does store up power in a battery!
I tried checking the Warner Nature Center website, but it doesn't have information about the boat. I've begun working with the staff on a redesign of their site, so we'll make sure it has information about how the boat works!
